 No Limit Poker and Pot Limit Poker is said to be the purest form of Poker. The general game rules and structure of Pot Limit and No Limit poker games are exactly the same as poker limited games, but with two very important exceptions:
1. There is no Higher Limit Stake or Lower Limit Stake.
2. There is no Cap to the Betting Rounds.
As a replacement , the maximum and minimum amounts that poker players are permitted to bet are according to No Limit and Pot Limit Betting Rules/Structure.
No Limit Games
As mentioned, No Limit poker games differ from the Limit games in the fact that there is no maximum to each raise (apart from the player's table balance).
No Limit Poker Betting Rules
Minimum Allowable Bet/Raise/Reraise: In a Betting Round, once an initial Bet has been placed all following players wishing to Raise/Reraise must do so in amounts equaling no less than the Round's initial Bet. For instance:
- Player one Bets: $15
- Player two Raises: $15 (total wager: $30)
- Player three Calls: (total wager: $30)
- Player four Reraises: $15 (total wager: $45)
- Player five Calls: (total wager: $45)
- Player six Reraises: $25 (total wager: $70)
- Etc. until end of Betting Round.
Maximum Allowable Bet/Raise/Reraise: As the name suggests, No Limit Players may Bet, Raise or Reraise any ammount that they currently have at the table.
There are no caps to the Betting Rounds. A Betting Round ends only when each active player has either: Folded, Checked, or Called the most recent Raise/Reraise to the Pot, in turn.
Pot Limit Games
Pot Limit poker games differ from the Limit games by the betting and raising amounts allowed: The minimum raise amount is the previous bet or raise in the same hand. For instance, if the first player bet $15, the second player can raise a minimum of $15. The maximum raise amount is the total betting pot + total bets of other players in the betting round + the call amount of the player. For instance, if the pot is $55, the first player bets $15 and the second player calls $15, the third player can raise up to $100 ($55 in the main pot + $30 from past bets in the round + $15 of the player's own call).
Pot Limit Poker Betting Rules
Minimum Allowable Bet/Raise/Reraise: In a Betting Round, once an initial Bet has been placed all following players wishing to Raise/Reraise must do so in amounts equaling no less than the Round's initial Bet. For instance:

- Plus the amount of the Raise/Reraise
- Plus the total amount currently in the Pot.
For instance:
- The Betting Round begins with a total of $20 in the Pot
- Player one Bets: $15 (total in Pot: $35)
- Player two Calls: $15 (total in Pot: $50)
- Player three Raises Pot Limit: $80 (= Call: $15 + Raise: $15 + Current Pot: $50) (total in Pot: $130)
- Player four Calls: $80 (total in Pot: $210 Pot)
- Etc. until end of Betting Round
There are no caps to the Betting Rounds. A Betting Round ends only when each active player has either: Folded, Checked, or Called the most recent Raise/Reraise to the Pot, in turn.
