No Legal Online Gambling for Hawaii

Not so long ago, many thought that Hawaii would soon be legalizing gambling within their state. Hawaii, as with many other US states, was considering legalizing gambling in order to bring in some extra revenue, which is desperately needed. Around the time that the online gambling industry felt that the decision to legalize gambling in Hawaii was imminent, the Hawaiian lawmakers made a decision to keep things as they were.

In fact, the gambling laws in Hawaii have not changed at all, which means that all forms of gambling, both online and offline are going to continue to be illegal throughout the Hawaiian Islands.

Throughout the United States, even those states that are somewhat opposed to various forms of gambling, usually have one type of gambling or another that is considered legal in their state. For example, while Kentucky does not want to approve legal online gambling, they are well known for their legal horse racing tracks. There are only two states within the whole of the United States that have no form of legal gambling, be it online gambling, or land based gambling. The two states include the Hawaiian Islands, and Alaska.

It seems that the decision of the Hawaiian lawmakers was actually swayed by religious groups that are opposed to gambling, and other social organizations that are also opposed to gambling. Law enforcement groups were also opposed to the proposed gambling legislation. In other states across the United States, the religious and various other anti-gambling groups constantly campaign against legal gambling, yet they are not successful in keeping all forms of gambling illegal.

Another reason that Hawaiian lawmakers have been so intent on keeping gambling illegal in their state, is that they wish to make sure that their image, as a family vacation spot should not be ruined. Hawaii is known to be a beautiful spot for vacationing.

Hawaii may well have been able to increase its revenue by more than five hundred million dollars per year in gambling taxes.
